Sicily is a 1-year-old, beautiful, Dutch shepherd mix. She is only about 33 pounds currently and needs to gain a little bit of weight, but she will stay a nice medium size, making her the perfect adventure buddy. Sicily was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas, where she was picked up as a stray. She was very scared and timid in the shelter and was sadly euthanasia listed for space. Sicily is a healthy, sweet, fun, silly, playful puppy who loves living life now. Though she doesn’t know much in terms of manners yet, she is smart, food motivated, human focused, and wanting to learn anything and everything she can. She is a complete sponge. She will do best in a home with a fenced yard and owners ready for adventures, training, and enrichment. She also would enjoy dog friends. She loves to play and is a beautiful runner!

My daughter and I have been volunteering with Mile High since its beginning, mostly driving the rescue van to NM to help with transports. We connect with other rescue partners, helping these dogs get to CO and then to foster homes, vet care, and their forever homes. We get to spend time together and feel good about helping the pups.
