Riggs is a 1 year old, male, Siberian Husky and boy is he true to his roots. He loves to chase bunnies, has a bit of sass, and has an independent nature. Riggs is dog friendly and seems oddly non-reactive to cats but hasn’t lived directly with one. He’s gentle with kiddos (again, hasn’t lived with them), does well in a secure, plastic crate, seems house trained, and walks pretty well on a leash. He can be a bit skeptical when meeting new people or being introduced to new things, but he’s quick to warm up. He also really enjoys the water (I know, it’s kinda strange for us, too) and does well in the car. He’s a petite young man, around 40 lbs. Although, once he’s filled out and finished growing he should even out around 50-55 lbs. Riggs spent a few months in a small, underfunded, shelter in Texas. Once he arrived in CO we could see he was suffering with pain in his front, right, leg. A CT scan revealed a lot of damage and incongruity and the decision was made to amputate his leg. His remaining 3 legs are strong and healthy and true to husky form, he hasn’t missed a beat. He’s a real husky lovers delight! Fenced in yard required.
