Max is a handsome, little, Pekingese. He was surrendered to MHCR with a handful of his housemates after their human mom passed away. Max is a happy, playful guy. He likes to wrestle with canine friends and play with his ball. He isn’t much of a snuggler but will occasionally tease you with a few minutes here and there. Due to chronic, untreated ear infections, Max can’t hear well, if at all. This may improve as his ears continue to respond to treatment, but we can’t say for sure. Because of his hearing limitations, we feel a home without small kiddos is best so as to avoid startling him. He also has some sensitivity around his ears due to the pain he’s lived with for so long. Max will make a wonderful addition to any mature family. He’s hard to resist, so we recommend you don’t even try!

My daughter and I have been volunteering with Mile High since its beginning, mostly driving the rescue van to NM to help with transports. We connect with other rescue partners, helping these dogs get to CO and then to foster homes, vet care, and their forever homes. We get to spend time together and feel good about helping the pups.
