Lucy is such a happy, pittie! Lucy was found in early November tied to a donation box in a parking lot in Houston, TX. She was riddled with fleas, had bloody spots all over her body, was balding, seemed to have whelped pups recently, and was clearly fully of despair. Her finders took her to the shelter so she was no longer suffering on the streets. Due to her condition, she was marked ‘rescue only,’ which further reduced her chances of making it out alive because finding an adoptive family wasn’t permitted. Luckily, a pittie-hearted foster with MHCR heard her plea and agreed to offer her a foster home. Lucy has made it to Colorado and she shines oh so bright. She has the most amazing tail wag and an innocent, sweet disposition. It’s like she doesn’t even remember all of the ways she was wronged and she is so full of gratitude to be where she is. Lucy is dog, kid, and cat friendly. She is also crate trained and seems house trained! She’s truly amazing. At around 50 lbs and approx 3 ish years old, she’s mature and doesn’t have crazy high energy. She enjoys short, leisurely strolls, wrestling with her canine siblings, but mostly she loves to snuggle with her foster mom. She was in such bad shape when she was round the shelter suspected she was around 5-6 years old. She’s been treated for dermatitis and allergies and now that she’s healthy, our vet believes closer to 3.
