Ahoy Matey! Please meet Pirate! Why the name Pirate you ask? Well, this handsome fur bag joined MHCR with a bum eye that he recently had removed. He’s 5 months old and is the sweetest, friendliest, most loving boy. Pirate is great with all dog friends and he’s polishing up his crate and house-training skills while in foster home. He enjoys chewing on bones, tossing toys around, and following his foster mom around bumping into her legs with his cone. If you’re looking for a loyal companion and have a love for the independent yet co-dependent love of a Pyrenees, Pirate is your guy! He’s presently around 40-45 lbs.

My daughter and I have been volunteering with Mile High since its beginning, mostly driving the rescue van to NM to help with transports. We connect with other rescue partners, helping these dogs get to CO and then to foster homes, vet care, and their forever homes. We get to spend time together and feel good about helping the pups.
