Rip's Story

With an unmistakable, rich, black coat, loyalty, and an ability to truly offer unconditional love, there’s no better name than Rip. Rip is a 4.5 month old, male, pit mix. He comes from a small, under-funded, high-kill shelter in Texas where he and his family were facing euthanasia due to a staffing issue. Rip made his way to safety here in Colorado and is now looking for his forever home. Rip is a playful, independent guy. He’s brave and curious and the leader of his siblings. He’s also an epic poser every time the camera comes out, a bonus for our social media influencers.

My daughter and I have been volunteering with Mile High since its beginning, mostly driving the rescue van to NM to help with transports. We connect with other rescue partners, helping these dogs get to CO and then to foster homes, vet care, and their forever homes. We get to spend time together and feel good about helping the pups.
