Some dogs embody resilience and gratitude more than others. Mister is a mixed breed dog (we think Aussie/cattle dog type mix) that was picked up as a stray and was almost euthanized for space at a high kill shelter in Houston after he went unnoticed for two weeks. He wasn’t the prettiest looking dog there; he was emaciated at 40 lbs and looked sickly due to a terrible coat, so he may have been easy to pass over. We truly don’t know if he was starved intentionally, due to negligence, or if he lived homeless on the streets for a while.
But, you know what? He got a foster home, and things started looking up. His fosters say he’s basically perfect and one of the easiest dogs they have had! He’s smart as a whip, crate trained, likes kids, integrates great with other dogs, and is good for handling. It’s crazy how much this guy appreciates a warm bed, regular meals, clean water, predictability, and people being nice to him 🥹. And he’s ready to love his forever family and show them just how much.
Mister is healthy now and is putting on weight . We have a hard time discerning what his actual age is due to the condition he arrived in, but he is an adult that still likes to play a bit and has good mobility. Whatever his real age, he seems wise beyond even that. Please come and adopt this handsome, loving boy. He deserves the rest of his life to be full of the best things.
